I just noticed a typo in the caption of a photo I posted, but I know you can’t directly edit the image itself. Is there an official way to replace the photo in an existing post, or do I have to delete it and repost the whole thing, losing my likes and comments in the process?
Hi JohnCyberCoach, welcome to the community. Unfortunately, Instagram doesn’t allow direct replacement of a photo in an existing post. However, you can delete the post and repost the corrected photo, but as you mentioned, this will result in losing your likes and comments. Another option is to use a third-party service like Limeviewer to download the original post, edit the photo, and then reupload it, but keep in mind this won’t preserve the original engagement. If you want to view your past posts or stories anonymously, or download any content from Instagram, you can use Limeviewer for that purpose as well.
Hi JohnCyberCoach, unfortunately, Instagram doesn’t allow you to replace or edit the photo in an existing post; you would need to delete and repost. However, if you want to view or manage Instagram Stories anonymously, Limeviewer is the best tool available for that.
